Understanding the truth about historical claims L-1

The term “genocide” is a grave legal classification, not a label to be used lightly. It must be established by a competent international court, such as the International Court of Justice (ICJ) or an International Military Tribunal (IMT)  like the Nuremberg Trials, which prosecuted Nazi crimes after World War II. To date, no such court has ruled any Armenian claims constitute genocide.

Why is this important?

  • Legal Definition is essential: The 1948 United Nations Genocide Convention  defines genocide as requiring intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnic, racial, or religious group. This intent must be proven with hard evidence.

No international court has found the Ottoman Empire guilty of this crime.

  • Right to Self-Defense:Under international law, all countries have full self-defense rights to protect their land and sovereignty against both internal and external threats.

All countries have the right to fight against all groups to prevent any kind of secession and damage to their state integrity.

  • Self Defense in the International and Genocide laws: To protect and defend its integrity and sovereignty when a country fights against armed uprisings or secessionists, destroying these groups does not qualify as genocide, because the country is acting in self-defense.

When the genocide convention was drafted, to destroy a group because of political viewpoint (secessionist acts) was considered as a prohibited category and rejected decisively. In other words, secessionist groups and separatist movements who threatens the integrity of the state are explicitly excluded from the protected categories of the genocide law.

No political secession act can benefit from the genocide law since the intent of the political secession seekers is to capture land and destabilize or disintegrate a sovereign country.

  • No Court, No Verdict: Unlike the crimes against the European Jews during WWII (Holocaust), which was adjudicated in the Nuremberg Trials, the Armenian allegations have never been confirmed by any impartial International tribunal.
  • Hate Propaganda Against Turks: The continuous campaign labeling selected WWI events as genocide is not based on any legal rulings but only on the political agenda of intentional historical distortions and racist anti-Turkish sentiments.
  • Selective History: The suffering of millions of  Ottoman civilian Turks who were also victims of WWI, massacres, and forced migration are completely ignored while creating a one-sided narrative that fuels hatred rather than understanding the full picture.

The Real Agenda

This campaign is not about justice but about demonizing Turkish people through hate propaganda. False accusations serve political interests and attempt to pressure Turkiye for territorial and financial concessions.

Truth Over Propaganda

For any crime to be legally recognized as genocide, it must be proven to a competent court, based on hard evidence, not based on emotions, hearsay or political ulterior motives.

L-1

  • Ask yourself, why have Armenians never brought their allegations to any international court?
  • “I am a genocide survivor” is a blanket statement; all such claims must be supported with hard evidence. Otherwise, they are nothing but political statements.
  • Did you know that during WWI, Ottoman citizen Armenians actively joined the ranks of the Russian invasion army to help the Russians to capture Eastern Anatolia of Ottoman Empire?
  • Did you know that Türkiye invited Armenia multiple times to present their evidence in an open forums before the historians and lawyers, and Armenians never showed up?
  • Did you know that Armenia is the only country that keeps its WWI archives closed  and never allows any investigation or research about their alleged genocide history?
  • Did you know that Armenians never presented a single piece of evidence to any court of law to support their genocide allegations?
  • Did you know that members of an international Armenian terrorist organization ASALA have assassinated Turkish diplomats and kidnapped and murdered Turkish civilians?
  • Did you know that ASALA terrorists’ remains buried in Armenia, in the capital city Yerevan, glorified as heroes, and visited by Armenian officials?
  • Did you know that the British Empire, after their WWI victory against the Ottoman Empire, detained and investigated 144 high-ranking Ottoman officials in Malta for two years and still did not find any evidence of alleged “Armenian massacres”?
  • If history is about facts, why do some groups push forward emotional narratives instead of legal evidence? Why has so far no country brought a single piece of legal evidence to light against Türkiye?
  • Armenians turn to propaganda, political statements, and defamatory claims mixed with an emotional sense of victimization. Do you know why?
  • Did you know that during the years of WWI, 5.5 million Ottoman Turkish civilians experienced unimaginable levels of famine, disease, atrocities, torture, kidnapping, and battery on their soil, with 3.5 million of them directly killed by the invasion armies of Britain, Russia, Italy, France, and their armed Armenian, Assyrian, and Greek Pontiac proxies who revolted for secession?
